Croatia charter guide | Faq

1. Which licences must I have to charter a vessel?

Charterer or skipper must have a valid license for yacht navigation at open sea accepted by the Croatian authorities. Licenses and certificates which correspond to the Croatian program and contain the verification of the appropriate government bodies are usually accepted by the Croatian authorities. The VHF license is obligatory, therefore one member of the crew must have radio – telephone certificate of competency.

2. Do I have to hire a professional skipper?

You do not have to hire a professional skipper if you have all necessary licenses and sailing experience, except in cases where the vessel is rented exclusively with a crew. But if you still want a skipper we will gladly recommend one. You pay for the skipper, hostess and crew as well as his meals, whether you prepare them on board or go to a restaurant.

3. Are there any additional charges?

Final cleaning (obligatory), fuel charges, tourist tax (obligatory), transfers and optionally charges as skipper fee, outboard engine and spinnaker.

Deposit - Refundable Security Deposit payable on arrival in cash or credit card.

4. Are the vessel and the crew insured?

Yes, all vessels and crews are insured against the possible damages.

5. Is it possible to charter a vessel for just a few days?

Mostly the yachts are chartered for a seven - day period, from Saturday until Saturday, but it is also possible to rent a vessel for a few days and the largest choice of the available vessels is in the preseason and postseason period.
